Febuary 2013

The winter months are mostly taken up with maintenance. Various spot resleepering, levelling and packing has been done on the track, while the main job of extending the yard headshunt has been completed. This also needed quite a lot of S & T work to connect everything up again.

Nigel's Heath's Brigadelok continues to make great progress with a view to having it in steam by Easter. 'Justine' and 1091 are ready for the annual boiler inspection which is scheduled to take place shortly.

Work is progressing steadily on the Wembley carriage. Efforts are being made to source suitable bogies for it. An encouraging number of volunteers are usually at work on the site, not just on Sundays but also some days during the week.

The May gala is going to be an exciting event not to be missed and the narrow gauge will be playing a full part. Further news in due course.
